EA today announced that the classic real-time strategy title Command and Conquer Red Alert will be available for free download in celebration of the 13th Anniversary of the series and the forthcoming release of C&C Red Alert 3 which is due in October of this year.
The file will be available as an ISO image officially compatible with Windows ME, 95, 98 and XP but as yet there is no official news that it will be playable with Vista, an ISO image will need to be either burned on to a disc or played through a virtual cd program so make sure you’re able to do one of those tasks before downloading.
As a fan of the series I highly recommend you check this out, it defined the war based RTS with it’s easy to use system and entertaining online play and a cheesy single player story mode focusing on a war between Allied and Russian forces with the fate of the world in your capable hands.

I was hoping they would do something like this since the third one is coming out soon. One of my favorite RTS games ever. I just wish it worked with Vista
