Armoured Shift to Collide with iPhone

Orbital Worlds, a newly formed independent game development studio, today announced Armoured Shift, an upcoming iPhone and iPod Touch shooter set to hit the App Store in September. With engaging, motion-based controls, Armoured Shift puts players in command of the Scythe MKIII, a powerful and agile spacecraft, and challenges them to defeat waves of asteroids, enemy ships, and deadly bosses.

Unlike the majority of shooters available on the App Store (which rely on dual on-screen virtual joysticks), Armoured Shift takes advantage of the iPhone’s accelerometer for a uniquely immersive gaming experience. The open-world shooter also features:

• Six Expansive Open World Maps
• Stunning Graphics Running at 60 FPS
• Multiple Enemies, Bosses, Weapons and Power-Ups
• Arcade and Progressive Story Gameplay Modes
• 10,000 Player Online Leaderboard
• In-Game Achievements
• Eight Original Composed Music Tracks

“From the very beginning, we wanted to do something markedly different from the deluge of shooters of the iPhone – and so we chose to throw out the run-of-the-mill dual-analog control scheme in lieu of something more awesome,” said Abdul Hameed, co-creator of Armoured Shift. “Instead of falling in with the rank and file, we decided to take advantage of the iPhone’s motion sensing capabilities, and not just Multi-Touch.”
