Following a price cut of the Xbox 360 Elite in the UK, sales of Microsoft’s console rose by some 43% during last weekend.
The firm cut the price of its Elite model to £199 in the UK, making it £50 cheaper than Sony’s PS3.
"Sales of Xbox 360 are up 43 per cent," a representative for GfK Chart-Track told GamesIndustry.biz. "Essentially, looking at the price, obviously it’s the Elite that’s done the business with those sales."
With the PS3 Slim launching in the UK this week, the rep added that "it’s an early start" for the Xbox 3602.
