| Finalists for Phase 1 of $1 Million Intel Make Something Unreal Contest announced Posted by Guest on Sep 3, 2008 05:06 Epic took the opportunity in th erun up to the Austin GDC Conference to announce the finalists in Phase 1 of the coveted $1 Million Intel Make Something Unreal Contest; a mod competition for Unreal T3urnament with prizes worth in excessof US$1 million. This initial phase of the competition was for the best "Deathmatch Level"; the first in four reliminary phases followed by a grand final judging. Winners in all ten Phase 1 categories will be announced later this month at the Austin Game Developers Conference, September 15-17. Epic will begin accepting submissions for Phase 2 of the $1 Million Intel Make Something Unreal Contest on September 30th. The entry deadline for Phase 2 is October 17, 2008, althogh participation in Phase 1 apparently isn’t required for eligibility in Phase 2.
