The World’s greatest train routes are approaching your PC!

Simulated rail enthusiasts will soon have the chance to drive iconic train routes from around the world with the arrival of Trainz Railways, published in the UK on the Just Trains label.

This simulation is the latest in the popular Trainz franchise, developed by the award-winning team at Auran Games and currently boasting over 600,000 users worldwide. Trainz Railways (published outside the UK as Trainz Classics) is the first in a planned series of classic routes and features New York’s Harlem line along with a fantasy Metropolis route.

Future editions are set to include more classic routes from around the UK, Australia and the US; Trainz Railways is set to become into a unique collection of the world’s most iconic rail routes.

Trainz Railways producer, Rob Shaw, said “Trainz Railways will take the Trainz franchise into much broader territory. We’ve re-invented Trainz. We’ve made it look and run even better than before and made it even easier to use so in order to bring in more enthusiasts but still keep our current fans happy.

As with previous releases of Trainz, users will have access to the community created online database of free content from the Trainz Download Station. Trainz Community Manager, Lance Jago acknowledged that the Download Station has been a unique feature that has added greatly to the appeal of Trainz. “Over the last six years, users have created and shared over 60,000 of their own items. By helping them to share this extra content, we’ve turned Trainz into a genuinely community focused simulation and users have enjoyed seeing their creative efforts enjoyed by others. No other simulator offers that kind of community participation and it makes Trainz far more enjoyable and immersive for users.”

Just Flight’s production director, Alex Ford, added “We’ve published the last three instalments in the Trainz series and the combination of fantastic content and unique features has made it a winner for us. We are really looking forward to releasing the Trainz Railways series.”
