Greetings to those who are interested in the fate of Majesty2!
In this entry I’ll talk about special abilities of our heroes and their enemies. In the first part of Majesty heroes had many special skills that they learnt or received with level-up. There was even a special building – library, where mages learnt new spells and other heroes - some of special skills. Heroes could use their abilities periodically (cooldown).
Practically this same system is now developed in Majesty2 with one exception.
Now there is mana – magic energy consumed during casting of spells. Not all heroes need this energy. For example Warrior and Archer are doing just fine without it. But Mage and Cleric heavily depend on quantity of mana.
In the first place this innovation is necessary for balancing multiplayer. Now during a battle Cleric won’t be able to heal a fighting Warrior constantly – sooner or later mana will come to an end, which will change balance of forces. However, absence of mana doesn’t mean complete helplessness of a hero. All basic attacks (including magical) don’t require mana. Bottles for mana restore and bottles for health restore appear on the market immediately after they were invented.
