[GDN] Wonderland Online has been around for some time. How many registered users are there and what has been the maximum concurrent number of users playing at one time?
[EH-IGG] We are proud to say that Wonderland Online’s (http://wl.igg.com/main.php) registered users has reached 1,000,000+ since it’s launch in March 2008 and it goes up everyday. Our maximum number of users playing at one time has now reached 15000.
[GDN] Keeping an MMORPG fresh is difficult. How is IGG keeping players interested in coming back month after month?
[EH-IGG] Well, Wonderland Online is an adventure and manufacturing based MMORPG game. In the future, we will provide more adventure maps, new quests and new pets and a lot of new expansions to keep WL fresh. Meanwhile, the abundant online and offline events are a constant source of new adventure and excitement for our players. Also, Wonderland Online is currently almost finished with the development of the new 3.0 version, to be released soon.
[GDN] WO is free-to-play and contains a micro-transaction experience. Why would users want to purchase items from the item mall? What is the major benefit to them?
[EH-IGG] Wonderland Online is free to play forever. Players may enjoy the fun of the game without buying anything from the Item Mall as long as they want to play. Players can make items and compound gear through the Manufacture System, Compound System and Fishing System.
However, some players are interested in Wonderland Online but have little time to play, so we opened the Item Mall to meet their needs. These players can level up quickly by using mall items. Compared with long-term players, players who use the Item Mall don’t have much of an advantage. For example, manual controls are more efficient than using a remote control. Furthermore, lots of gear must be made by compounding, which is a particular advantage of non-consuming players. Likewise, players can also purchase gear from the Item Mall. The Item Mall just achieves a kind of balance in the game between players who wish to invest more or less time in playing.
