Indinera Aldorlea, the founder of Aldorlea games gave us this exclusive time to sit down and chat about the latest release Laxius Force. You can read our very own David Dr. Gonzo Griffith’s review of Laxius Force as well.
[GDN] How long have the Laxius Games been around? How many people are involved?
[IA] The Laxius saga has been around since 2001 and has been very successful as a series of indie old school RPGs. I’m the founder and, to this day, the game designer of the whole series. A few people, mostly drawing artists, have helped me throughout as freelancers but the main structure has always been maintained the work of a single person.
[GDN] What’s the basic idea behind Laxius Games? What are you hoping to accomplish?
[IA] The idea is to create exciting RPG like there used to be on consoles like the Super NES or the Genesis. Think, Final Fantasy 3, or Phantasy Star 4.
The Laxius saga as a whole is several RPG games all aimed at achieving addictive gameplay and huge replay value. Those games do not rely on eye-candy but depth and exploration possible with a rich cast of colorful characters. There are indeed countless items to collect, places to discover, quests to complete and such, and all Laxius games have huge length, some of them achieving more than 100 hours of playtime.
[GDN] How long was Laxius Force in development? What tools are used to develop the titles?
[IA] Laxius Force is two years of daily work. The game itself was made using RPG Maker, and I used a couple more programs to create the graphics or the music.
