Eyegore’s Eye Blast iPhone iReview

Posted by Christophor Rick, 29 days ago

There’s Chillingo, the company they use for their premium titles. Then there’s Clickgamer which they use for less-than-premium titles. This happens to be one of the latter.

Eyegore’s Eye Blast isn’t your standard match-three. It’s far more frustrating than that. Whem you launch an eyeball at the mass of eyeballs you need to get rid of the force of the launch sends the whole thing swinging about as it’s on a chain. That generally means that you’ll be waiting more than you’ll be playing, because it’s not prudent and extremely difficult at times to hit the right spot when it’s moving. Couple that with the fact that the aiming arrow is far from accurate and you’ll be ready to launch your iPhone across the room in a matter of minutes.

Of course you can use the accelerometer to try to control it but the aiming arrow isn’t what I would call extremely accurate and often even when you think you’ll hit the spot you want, you won’t. That’s just poor game design if you ask me.

The game is sort of fun but only in small doses and when you have nothing better to do. Aside from all that it’s a pretty standard match-3 where you fire colored balls (eyes in this case) at other balls to match up colors and clear the levels. It’s sort of like Halloween meets Bubble Bobble with some crazy physics.

The game controls aren’t all the great either as it requires you to aim with your finger which means your finger eventually gets in the way of you seeing where you need to shoot. It get seriously irritating at times as well.

From a graphics standpoint the game looks good and was well done. It’s cool and all but the gameplay just doesn’t support it as well as it could have.

Frankly, I’m not sure many of you would enjoy the game. But the great thing about iPhone apss are the Lite of Free versions that let you try before you buy. This is a title where that rule is in full effect. Try before you buy. Me, I wouldn’t be happy with the purchase.

Our Rating for Eyegore’s Eye Blast iPhone iReview
6.0
Overall
Looks nice, plays poorly and is frustrating. Not what a game should be but you might like the so-called challenge.
